My name is Ruth Serna, and I am the principal at Youens Elementary School. I have been a proud member of the Alief family for more than 15 years and my second third year as principal at Youens beginning this school year 25-26. Before becoming a principal, I taught 1st, 3rd and 4th grade. I have served as Science Specialist and Assistant Principal as well.

I graduated from University of Houston-Downtown and University of Houston-Clear Lake, where I obtained my Bachelors degree in EC-4 Bilingual education and Masters Degree in Administration and Master Technology Teacher.
