I have taught Art at Youens Elementary since 1992! I love getting to teach the children of past students! I am passionate about both art & art education. I believe that giving this tool to our students gives them a better understanding of the world around them and sharpens their ability to approach problems in a variety of ways. I strive to spark their excitement to investigate their creative side further. I am honored to be afforded the opportunity to go on this creative journey with our students.

Greetings, Youens parents and Great Gator musicians! Welcome to music class!

I have had the honor and privilege of teaching K-5 music here at Youens Elementary since 2005.

Teaching music with our wonderful students each day is a joy and always full of surprises! Their high energy and excitement about learning is a constant reminder of how fortunate I am to know them for this brief time in their lives. I feel that teaching and sharing a love of music is a special gift and a wonderful opportunity to inspire creativity and emphasize the value of friendship and community. I look forward to singing, dancing, and creating with you!

 I have been teaching music education for 29 years. I began my career at Three Rivers Elementary in Sunriver, Oregon. I have spent 18 years here at Youens Elementary. I have always believed in the importance of music education and remember how important it was to me growing up. I have always tried to instill my passion for music in my students.

Two other areas of importance for my life are church and family. I Am married and have three children, six grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. I come from a big family of 7 brothers and sisters. I am also the choir director at Joy Lutheran Church in Richmond, Texas. I try to bring the same passion to my choir directing as I do my teaching.
